Photo of the Day: The Eyes Have It

A rather disconcerting view of Republican contender Newt Gingrich

They say that as couples grow old together, they start to resemble one another, but this is ridiculous. That's Callista Gingrich, she of the impressive platinum helmet hair and intense eyes, on the right. And that's resurgent GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich, he of the grandiose thoughts, on the left -- except with her eyes and lips. Atlantic Social Media Editor Jared B. Keller discovered the image and passed it along (A few viewers have reacted with horror, including Editor James Bennet). The former speaker somewhat resembles the Joker, doesn't he? Now all we need is a version with his features PhotoShopped onto hers.
