CBS Poll: Obama Winning Opinion Battle Over Debt Limit

Most Americans are siding with President Obama over Republicans on how to raise the debt limit, according to a new poll from CBS news, although respondents weren't really happy with any party involved:

With 71 percent disapproving of their debt-limit handling, congressional Republicans are at a 50-percent approval deficit on this issue. Obama, meanwhile, carries a five-percent deficit.

CBS's numbers follow a national July 5-11 Quinnipiac University poll finding that more Americans would blame congressional Republicans than Obama, 48 percent vs. 34 percent, if the debt limit isn't raised:
