Schumer: I Won't Criticize Trump

As news stories go, those of the rubric "Politician X Refuses to Criticize Y" are possibly the lowest. But this one has some flavor: even as nearly every other member of Schumer's party has jumped all over The Donald for his birther crusade -- because the guy is from New York, and Schumer fondly remembers Trump's father driving around. Not to mention Trump has donated to Schumer before.

From the New York Observer:

"I used to see his father driving the Cadillac that said 'FT' down Ocean Parkway when I was playing on the street," Schumer reminisced. (Trump's father was named Fred Christ Trump.) "So I'm not going to be critical of Donald Trump. All I say is, as a Democrat, the more Republicans in the primary, the merrier."
