Expect Rand Paul To Debate

More

I wrote last night about the broad sense among conservative voters here in Kentucky that Rand Paul simply had to respond to the "Aqua Buddha" charges by agreeing to debate Jack Conway on Monday night--he'd previously said he wouldn't, and he's scheduled to announce his final decision this afternoon. Expect Paul to reverse course and say he's showing up. According to a knowledgeable Kentucky Republican, the Aqua Buddha flap is killing Conway: "The subject was the turning point in the campaign and the tracks [tracking polls] are moving dramatically in Paul's direction." Paul is aware of this and not likely to jeopardize his chances by staying home. Added my source, "It's on the way to being locked up."
