Whitman out of the Gates With Negative Ad

Two weeks after winning the Republican primary, former eBay CEO is hitting Jerry Brown, her Democratic opponent in California's gubernatorial race, by running this negative ad statewide:


Brown leads Whitman by single digits in most polls, but this will be a close race: Whitman is running as a relatively moderate Republican as California sees its budget situation as unsustainable, and her vast amounts of personal wealth will allow her to run slick ads throughout the state. Going up with a one-minute spot statewide, so early in the race, seems like a preview of what's to come.
