Careful readers know that the proprietor of Goldblog believes rather strongly that the Holocaust should be compared only to... the Holocaust. Perhaps, if it is absolutely necessary, one can find a reason to compare it to other genocides, such as those that occurred in Rwanda and in Iraqi Kurdistan. But I'm afraid that Thomas Sowell's argument -- one endorsed vociferously by Sarah Palin -- that the creation of the BP escrow fund puts our country on a slippery slope toward Auschwitz, doesn't meet Goldblog standards of Holocaust-equivalency.
