A correspondent emails "By the way this also shuts down the US DoT as of this evening and holds up reimbursements to the states for highway expenditures. The cr that Bunning is objecting to would keep funding going until the HIRE bill can be dealt with in the House (supposedly later this week or early next). So as of this evening large numbers of US DoT employees go on furlough ( I think about 4000)".
