Tweeting The SOTU

I'll be following some Twitter reactions to President Obama's speech from around the Twittersphere, liberal, conservative, and other--see a few highlights of tweeted speech reactions from opinionators and media types below:

@mattyglesias Not Obama, though, he looks great in HD; if everyone had HD, his approval rating would be 10 points higher.

@aravosis I don't like it when Obama jokes when he speaks. Think it detracts from his presence as president

@markos Bank bashing will be political gold in 2010.

@mattyglesias Also fascinating to see GOP refuse to cheer for ARRA tax cuts. They've truly decided to be against everything.

@chucktodd "Number one focus in 2010" is jobs. Easy bipartisan applause line.

@ezraklein Even if Obama isn't interested in punishing banks, he should probably say he is.

@PatrickRuffini This is a surprisingly bad speech that plays directly into all the bad narratives right now #sotu

@fivethirtyeight OK, I'll be That Guy who says I think this is a pretty darn strong #SOTU so far, especially tonally.

@EdMorrissey #SOTU OK, I'm on board on eliminating cap-gains tax for business investment. That would be a step in the right direction.

@chucktodd It's a VERY animated president tonight...

@markos No one applauded over the lobbyist line?

@mitchellreports says theyve excluded lobbyists (yes, but gave waivers to some, including 7 in white house. and lobbyist ban cost them some good appointees

And from the fashion designer perspective: @toryburchExcited to see President Obama proposing ways to help small businesses.  @whitehouse

@EdMorrissey #SOTU It took him an hour to get to the war? Wow.

@attackerman 'I will work with Congress... to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love' Gates claps

@ThePlumLineGS Word "bipartisan" only appeared in speech twice. Progress!

@fivethirtyeight Three-run home run. #sotu

@americablog Video of Alito mouthing "not true" as Obama chastizes court for letting lobbyists and corps influence elections http://digg.com/u1LWtI

@chucktodd Wow, talk about a passing mention, his call for dealing with immigration was not exactly a "must do" for Congress this year.

@EdMorrissey #SOTU Final grades from me - Delivery: A. He was engaged, personable, cajoling, energetic, played well to cameras ...
