Just Asking....

So the Republican National Committee's winter meeting in Hawaii starts on the 27th of this month. Former South Carolina GOP chair Katon Dawson, who ran against chairman Michael Steele, intends to attend the meeting, raising speculation that Dawson was trying foment a coup of sorts. (Aides to Steele are among those who worry about this.)  So here's the thing: at said meeting, the RNC is going to make some decisions about the 2012 presidential calendar... does current South Carolina chair Karen Floyd really want Katon Dawson being seen as a potential adversary? There's a lot of ferment inside the GOP right now about the calendar, and even small chances in perception could tip the balance.  BTW: Dawson, who resigned from a whites-only club when he decided to run for chair, has apparently rejoined said club.
