In Defense Of Michael Steele
By
Former Rep. Mickey Edwards, at his Atlantic Correspondents blog, offers up a defense of Michael Steele, as the RNC chairman has become a favorite target for just about everyone in Washington--Republicans, Democrats, and journalists included--namely: Steele is actually doing the things he was hired to do by recruiting competitive candidates, not pandering to conservative ideologues while still keeping conservatives in the GOP fold, and trying to rebuild a part that is "driven by ideas, not unfocused rage."
