Crist Loses Straw Poll In Home County

The Tucson's Southwest Grill in Gov. Charlie Crist's home county of Pinellas, Florida was the site of the latest victory for conservative GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio Monday night: activists there voted 106-54 in favor of Rubio in a straw poll to voice their preferences in the Senate race, the St. Petersburg Times reports. Crist is still a favorite in the race, and straw polls are technically meaningless--they don't account for any actual votes within the party, and they don't always forecast an election's outcome (Mitt Romney won Iowa's straw poll in 2007 by pouring resources into it)--but it never looks great to lose a vote in one's home county.
