Biden Campaigns For Dodd, But Dodd Won't Be There
By
Vice President Joe Biden will be in Connecticut today to talk about stimulus projects (as he often does) and to attend an event for Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT), the Banking Committee chairman and '08 presidential primary candidate whose poll numbers show a challenging reelection race ahead.
The only problem is that Dodd himself won't be there. The Senate is expecting a vote on an omnibus appropriations bill today, so Dodd's wife, Jackie, will attend the two events in his stead as Dodd remains in DC.
Recent polling has shown Dodd behind GOP challengers Rob Simmons by nine percentage points (47 percent to 38 percent on average) and Linda McMahon by slimmer margins.
