Clinton's Last Major Endorsement

It was, of course, Rep. John Murtha, and brought along with it his political machine. But here's an exercise: has anyone endorsed Hillary Clinton who you might have thought -- out of history, temperament or ideology -- would endorse Barack Obama? Maybe John Lewis? (In other words: if Robert Reich endorsed Clinton, that'd be a surprise.) It's clear that large parts of the Democratic establishment have moved into a new era; if the miracle happens and Hillary Clinton pulls out the nomination, she will not only have Obama's constituency to court (young voters, black voters, wealthy liberals) -- she'll have to spend a lot of time behind the scenes explaining to Sam Nunn why he should take time out of his busy schedule to help her.
