Gore Unlikely To Endorse Before 2/5, Although...

My colleague Joshua Green makes the hearts of TV bookers everywhere go thump-thump-thump.

A well-connected Tennesseean told me two things today that got me thinking about this. The first is that Obama and Gore have been speaking regularly, about every two weeks or so. The second is that, despite this, and despite Tennessee’s primary on Tuesday, Obama has not visited the state since June. It may be simply that he does not plan on competing there. Or it may be that he’s been waiting for a special occasion.

Well, until John Edwards dropped out, he spoke with Mr. Gore fairly often, too.

Gore advisers say they've gotten no indication from their boss that he has decided to endorse, and aides to Obama, while acknowledging the friendship between Mr. Gore and Mr. Obama, do not believe he will endorse.
