Big Stick

Dick Cheney disparages House Democrats like John Murtha and John Dingell for "march[ing] to the tune of Nancy Pelosi" rather than "carrying the big stick" in the manner Cheney expected. He describes himself as "trying to think how to say all of this in a gentlemanly fashion" and comes up with the sniffy observation that in "the Congress I served in, that wouldn't have happened." Because, it seems, the sort of congress where you can cast votes in favor of keeping Nelson Mandela imprisoned isn't the sort of congress where stick-wielding men take their marching order from girls.

No word yet on whether John Conyers has contracted cooties.
