Animals in the News

Time for one last look into the animal kingdom this year, and our interactions with the countless other species that share our planet. Today's photos include a car-driving dog, a genetically-engineered neon pink angelfish, horse-logging in Scotland, and diving pigs in China. These images and many others are part of this roundup of animals in the news from recent weeks, seen from the perspectives of their human observers, companions, captors, and caretakers, part of an ongoing series on animals in the news. The next photo essay here will be posted on Wednesday, January 2nd.
