Peter Hotez, M.D., Ph.D., and James Kazura, M.D., are past president and president, respectively, of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Peter Hotez is currently the president of the Sabin Vaccine Institute and Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development. He is also the founding dean of the first National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. James Kazura is the director of the Center for Global Health and Diseases at Case Western Reserve University.
