See What Inspires Aspen Ideas Festival-Goers and Speakers

By Jay Lauf

The other week, Aspen Ideas Festival participants were inspired by everything from the tracks on "Happiness" to Bill Clinton's take on the 2012 election season to Thomas Friedman's discussion of the remaking of the American Dream.

"Inspirations from Aspen," brought to you by longtime Festival underwriter Mercedes-Benz, captures the thoughts and ideas AIF goers and speakers explored through select interviews posted here on TheAtlantic.com. The videos feature an array of individuals, such as Bonin Bough, Global Head of Digital & Social Media of PepsiCo, and Dan Morrison, AIF scholar and CEO of Citizen Effect.

Morrison shared his views right after attending a panel discussion about America post 9/11.

"What is inspiring is that people are sitting here thinking about the American Dream and what it meant, but I also think everybody is thinking about...what is actually the American Dream of the future," Morrison said. "How are we truly going to come up with ideas here at the Festival and in our jobs and our lives to truly redefine the American Dream?"
