Marc Ambinder, Hero of Blogging

By Jeffrey Goldberg

I'm on a bit of a blog-hiatus at the moment, but I couldn't let this day go past without wishing my blogging colleague Marc Ambinder farewell and best wishes. Marc invented a new genre -- the reported blog -- and he did it better than anyone who came along later to copy him. And not many people know this, but while blogging he simultaneously directed America's drone war over Yemen. An unbelievably talented guy, who is taking his talents to our sister publication, National Journal, where he will write long- and short-form journalism, and also serve as Director of National Intelligence. We will miss him very much.
