'Taxi Cabs and the Meaning of Work'

By Ta-Nehisi Coates
I didn't expect to get this many e-mails requesting the article. As far as I can tell, it's not available, either at TNR's site or elsewhere on the internet. Which means that if you want to read it, you need access to a service like LexisNexis or ProQuest. I originally reproduced it here in this post, but I've taken it down. If you can find a link anywhere, please let me know:

  • Stephen Glass, "Taxi Cabs and the Meaning of Work," The New Republic, Aug. 5, 1996; Vol. 215; Iss. 6; p. 20.

Given that the piece is cooked, in terms of modern journalism, it is by far the most racist article I've ever read.
