Washington, D.C., and New York, N.Y. (December 5, 2013)—Hayley Romer, Vice President and Publisher of The Atlantic, announced today that Sam Rosen is joining the company as Vice President of Marketing. Working closely with Romer, Rosen will lead The Atlantic’s brand strategy efforts and oversee the integrated marketing team, which develops custom advertising programs across the title’s print and digital platforms. His first day is tomorrow, December 6.
“Sam is one of the more accomplished marketing talents in the business,” said Romer. “An early innovator in the development of branded content, he’s a leader in the field. His experience, plus his creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and love of The Atlantic brand make him an invaluable addition to our team.”
Rosen joins The Atlantic from DigitasLBi, the world’s largest digitally led advertising and branding agency, where he served as Vice President and Director of Social Content. In that role, he spearheaded real-time marketing, social media, and content strategy ideas and initiatives on behalf of a wide range of brands and media partners. Before joining DigitasLBi, Rosen founded and led Evolution.is, a boutique agency specializing in content marketing and digital engagement. For five years, he developed campaigns for Fortune 500 brands, thought leaders, and high-growth startups alike, including Dow Chemical, IBM, and Haier.
Rosen, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, began his career with City Year, an AmeriCorps national service program.
