New Hampshire votes: Polls show Trump and Sanders comfortably leading their respective fields. In Dixville Notch, the tiny hamlet that’s home to the nation’s first primary, John Kasich won among Republicans, while on the Democratic side Sanders defeated Clinton.

A deadly train crash: A head-on collision between two passenger trains near the town of Bad Aibling, Germany, has killed at least eight people and injured 100 others, 15 critically. The cause of the collision wasn’t immediately clear, German news reports said. Update: More here

No respite for oil: The global demand for oil is forecast to “ease back considerably” this year, the International Energy Agency says in a new report. The agency is attributing the lower demand to slowdowns in Europe, China, and the U.S. In January, OPEC, the oil-producing cartel, forecast an increased demand for oil in 2016.
