The Moscow Terror Attack and the TSA

By Jeffrey Goldberg

The reports are very sketchy so far out of Moscow, but it seems as if a terror attack at a Domodedovo airport terminal has killed at least 30 people. It's too early to say anything definitive about this -- reports change all the time -- but if this was an attack on an open area of the terminal, then my worst fears about airport security are coming true. I've been writing for years about the exposure of airport visitors and passengers to terror attacks in unsecured parts of airports, in particular while waiting in line at TSA checkpoints, and unfortunately, airport authorities and the TSA haven't seemed to take this threat seriously. More to come.
