Jack Shafer defends NPR's Ron Schiller here. One thing I can't get past, is why NPR's fundraisers didn't sniff this out before it happened. 


Maybe it's the journalist in me, but if my job is soliciting funds for lightning rod like NPR, I'm going to what to know, in some depth, who you are. I'd love to know the specifics of how these guys even got this meeting in the first place.
