The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor 69 years ago today. The surprise military strike caused over 2,000 American deaths and the attack on American soil provoked the United States' entry into World War II. The following day, President Roosevelt declared war on Japan, and then on Germany and Italy a few days later.
