Orbital View: Autumn Sweeps Through Siberia

The Kamchatka Peninsula's taiga forests were still green on September 20th, when they were photographed by NASA's Aqua satellite. Eleven days later, when the bottom picture was taken, the Russian region's forests of Japanese stone pine and Erman's birch were already a rusty, autumnal brown.
