Orbital View: A Forest Fire East of Oregon's Glacier Field

As a 26,500-acre fire blazed in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest last month, NASA's Terra satellite captured the icy summits of North Sister, South Sister and Broken Top volcanoes, home to nearly half of the state's 35 glaciers. South Sister, the tallest of the three peaks, tops out at 10,358 feet above sea level.
