Space travel is no small feat. But as James Fallows argues in his new book, China Airborne, it's a government effort not unlike the building of a massive dam. Running a large fleet of airliners that could compete with Boeing or Airbus would take a whole other kind of coordination, one that may currently be out of China's reach.
