Cheerier Environmental-ish News From China

This is "environmental" news mainly in the sense that it happens outdoors. In the "clean and green" sense, not so much. Still, it's cheery overall, especially if you ignore the color of the water and just enjoy the general vibe. Here is "tidal bore surfing" on the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, on Vimeo.

The annual autumn "tidal bore" along the Qiantang River, 钱塘江, has been a known feature of Hangzhou for centuries but has attracted the world's surfers only in recent years. For some previous installments, see YouTube and Vimeo.
