Fake Russian CNN Site Inadvertently Mocks Dominique Strauss-Kahn

Cnnrussia.ru, a Russian language website that translates news stories from CNN, yet calls itself an "unofficial site," caused confusion today with numerous glaring errors. While the site does not appear to be intentionally humorous, the "automatic" translations are, well, funny.

Among the apparently unintentional blunders are references to the head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, using a Russian word that refers to the head of a penis.

CNN was quick to distance itself from the situation.

"I can confirm this is not a CNN site. We are evaluating next steps," a London-based spokeswoman for CNN, Claudia Coles, said in an e-mail.
