I'm sure Southers is depressed by this development, but he shouldn't be: He was being asked to run an agency built on a lie, the lie being that the TSA is equipped to stop a terrorist attack on American aviation. When the next attack comes, it will be the TSA chief who takes the fall. What the TSA needs is a Hollywood director, someone like Michael Bay, who would fully embrace the fantastical, security theater aspect of TSA's mission.
