Jimmy Carter's Exquisite Timing
By
Hamas earlier this week mourned the death of Osama bin Laden and condemned the United States for killing him. Today, Jimmy Carter, a former president of the United States (yes, the very same United States that was attacked by Osama Bin Laden and condemned by Hamas) tells us that Hamas would make a suitable partner for peace with Israel, America's closest friend in the Middle East. Hamas, of course, is an avowedly anti-Semitic organization that seeks Israel's destruction, mainly through mass murder.
I don't feel I need to go on, except to say that I don't find Jimmy Carter a reliable interpreter of Middle East reality.
