The Best Thing That Could Have Happened to Erroll Southers
By
The man nominated by the Obama Administration to head the Transportation Security Administration, Erroll Southers, has withdrawn his name from contention, following various semi-nonsensical controversies swirling about him, and following a hold placed on his nomination by Sen. Jim DeMint.
I'm sure Southers is depressed by this development, but he shouldn't be: He was being asked to run an agency built on a lie, the lie being that the TSA is equipped to stop a terrorist attack on American aviation. When the next attack comes, it will be the TSA chief who takes the fall. What the TSA needs is a Hollywood director, someone like Michael Bay, who would fully embrace the fantastical, security theater aspect of TSA's mission.
