According to New Orleans legend, the first cocktail ever created was the Sazerac, which was made in the old city by an apothecary. This Sazerac-inspired drink honors Phil Greene, treasurer and co-founder of the Museum of the American Cocktail.
• 2 ounces brandy
• ½ ounces simple syrup
• dash lemon juice
• dash lemon bitters
• dash absinthe
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain over fresh ice into chilled cocktail glass.
