One of our foremost aircraft engineers, Grover Loening has been building airplanes since 1911. He was general manager of the Wright Company, Dayton, Ohio, 1913-1914; inventor of the strut-braced monoplane and Loening amphibian airplane; and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 1919 for the Loening two-seater fighting plane.
