Ford Vox, MD, is an Atlantic correspondent and a physician.
Dr. Vox's writings on health care policy and practice have appeared in diverse outlets including Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, Salon, Slate and The Los Angeles Times. He trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Washington University School of Medicine and then completed a
neurorehabilitation fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine. While serving as medical director of brain injury rehabilitation at New England
Rehabilitation Hospital, he led the new program's development, earning specialty program certification from The Joint Commission. Now based at Atlanta's Shepherd Center, Dr. Vox specializes in caring for people who've acquired complex brain injuries.
