A Meditation on Voyeurism in Alan Wilkis's Latest Music Video

By Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg

Ryan O’Hara Theisen's cinematic video for Alan Wilkis's "Shadow," featuring Lyrics Born and White Hinterland, plays like a short film. Self-conscious camerawork provides a creepy glimpse into the psychology of the story's disturbed antihero. The song, a collaboration between Wilkis, a Brooklyn-based musician, Lyrics Born, a Bay Area rapper, and White Hinterland, a singer-songwriter in Portland, Oregon, is available here.
