Track of the Day: 'Black, White, & Blue'

By Brendan Hasenstab

Past TracksPhillipa "Pip" Brown, a.k.a. Ladyhawke, is a New Zealand-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who's on the verge of breaking out--at least judging by this track, a teaser for her forthcoming second album. It's an intriguing blend of synthetics and fuzzed-out guitar. "Life inside your head has come undone," she sings ahead of the chorus. "Your slow decent into madness has just begun." Haven't we all had days like that? Makes sense that her new album will be called Anxiety. But with songs like this, Pip doesn't need to be too worried about her future.
