May 1book140 Nominations: Travel Writing

By Jeff Howe

1book140_icon.JPGAs many #1book140 readers know, I was out of commission for a few weeks. I logged in ready to start building a consensus around what kind of book to read next month, only to discover one had already formed. And lo, the bookies had spoken: Travel books.

I'm a little concerned as this genre is, at best, porous. One man's Lonely Planet is another man's Black Lamb and Grey Falcon, which is to say, our tastes in where to travel are as varied as what we like to read along the way. All that said, 1book140 always manages to pick books of great merit, and I'm sure this month will be no different.

You know the drill, bookies, and if you don't, read this. Place your nominations, as many and as frequently as you like, in the comments below. We'll run nominations through the end of the week, and start voting on Monday.
