Track of the Day: 'Not Enough Time'

By Brendan Hasenstab

Past TracksRolling Stone writer and music critic Matt Perpetua, of Fluxblog fame, recently mentioned how much he loved this track, and I agree wholeheartedly. Admittedly, it is a late-period INXS hit, and if you were sentient in 1992, no doubt you have heard it. But I would totally support Perpetua's argument that it's time for a wholesale critical reappraisal of this band's work. Had a modern band released this track, I'm sure it would have been on my radar; the slinky bass line alone is worth the price of admission. Even though it is only a shade more than 20 years old, it's aged very well indeed. Treat it as ahead of its time.
