Track of the Day: 'Devil's Work'

By Brendan Hasenstab

Past TracksMiike Snow is a trio of big-league producers and songwriters from that hotbed of pop genius, Stockholm. When not banging out sizzlers for other singers (e.g., "Toxic," "Speakerphone," "How High," etc. ) they huddle in the studio and let their freak flags fly. Sometimes the results come out sounding as warped as The Knife. Other times, we get joyous rave-ups that beg to be remixed and let loose on dancefloors everywhere. The house piano off the top of this track is an indication we are safely in the later group this time. (The video, however, is reassuringly odd.) The band's new album, Happy to You, comes out at the end of this month, and I'm hoping it contains a "Toxic" of their own. It's time, gentlemen.
