We read Slaughterhouse-Five. We read The Blind Assassin. We read Kafka on the Shore. But as certain longtime bookies were quick to point out, 1book140 has yet to read a true work of Science Fiction. You know, classic interstellar yarns like Fahrenheit 451 or Robots of Dawn. As such, we're inaugurating the first 1book140 Sci-Fi Giant Read-along, somewhat embarrassed it took us this long. Most of you know what to do now. Those of you who don't, read our primer on the book club here. A final note: The last two months we've featured a "guest curator" who has helped inform and guide us along the way. It's been so successful we've decided to make it a tradition. So nominate a title, and nominate a likely suspect to serve as curator as well.
Nominations are open until Thursday at 5 pm. We'll start voting on Friday and keep the polls open until Tuesday, March 27th. Then reading will begin on Monday, April 2nd.
