Art Clokey's student film Gumbasia, created at USC in 1953, is an early exploration of claymation techniques and the precursor to his most famous character: Gumby. Invented in 1955 after Clokey graduated, Gumby went on to star in 233 episodes of the animated series over 35 years. Google is celebrating Clokey's 90th birthday today with a Gumby logo.
