The Problem With TV's New Wave of Sad Men Shows

In a much-discussed Atlantic piece, Hanna Rosin last year declared the "End of Men." TV critics June Thomas and Willa Paskin think this theme has inspired a new genre of sitcoms, like CBS's "How to Be a Gentlemen" and ABC's "Man Up," which portray an America where wives work while their husbands can't find a job. But though these shows may have captured the zeitgeist, they have a fatal flaw, revealed in this recent Bloggingheads.tv exchange:
