The 8 Lady Gagas of the 'Yoü and I' Video

Is there a method to Lady Gaga's madness? Yes, but it takes some digging to find it. In her new video for the country/hair-metal single "Yoü and I," she inhabits the form of a mermaid, a cyborg, a bride, and a chain-smoking greaser guy—and those are just the easily described outfits. By the end of the six-minute clip, she's been subjected to electro-shock torture, has made out with herself, and has stomped around in bloody heels.

What's going on here? Last month, Gaga told an Omaha radio station that the video's about the "idea that when you're away from someone you love, it's torture." Sounds simple.
