Track of the Day: 'Wolves'

By Brendan Hasenstab

Past TracksSarah McIntosh is The Good Natured, though her brother and a school friend round out the band. Clocking in at all of 20 years old, she's been putting out her own records for several years now, and is finally getting her shot at the big time. Her tracks bear more than a passing resemblance to La Roux, but a closer analogy would be if Elly Jackson ever teamed up with Ladytron, and the recording session was produced by Brandon Flowers. Lyrically, Wolves keeps to the gothic side of the ledger, but then what would you expect from a band who named their new EP Skeleton? Yes, there's "dancing in fire" and "shimmering raindrops" in the verse. But if you can deal with a bit of Le Bon-ery and you're looking for propulsive synthpop, Sarah and Co. have exactly what you're looking for.
