Sydney's Faker is on the cusp of releasing their third album, Get Loved, and with a lead-off single as good as this, it's a good bet they won't be spending too much time Down Under for the rest of the year. (Pity, missing out on winter that way.)
The amusingly mustachioed lead singer, Nathan Hudson, has a voice that occasionally recalls the great Robert Smith, and in this video he's being (perhaps) chased around Brixton and Shoreditch by shadowy figures called the Dangerous Twins--they're the stars of the album's cover art. How this narrative fits together as a video, I can't say. But the song is top-grade alternative pop with plenty of electronic frosting, a ribbon on compressed guitar, and a driving beat. Certainly infectious, if not exactly dangerous.
On iTunes: Not out here yet, but the band's previous record, Be The Twilight, went gold in Australia, and it's available on iTunes.
