Fox's Fall Lineup: Watch Clips of Zooey Deschanel, 'Terra Nova,' and More

By Kevin Fallon

Fox unveiled its fall 2011 schedule yesterday, announcing the pick up of seven new series. The network posted trailers for the new shows. Among them: The Finder, a spin-off of Bones that previewed last month, and I Hate My Teenage Daughter, a sitcom starring Jaime Pressly and Kate Finneran that straddles riotous laughter and groans in its posted trailer.

Based on the brief clips that have been posted, here are the two series that seem the most promising:

Terra Nova: The pilot for Terra Nova begins in the year 2149. With the planet on the verge of dying, a family time travels back to prehistoric ages and lives among a new colony trying to rebuild civilization. Produced by Steven Spielberg, the series was supposed to be launched last year, but production fell behind. Some were afraid the same thing would happen this year, especially considering the special effects burden of creating, among other things, dinosaurs. Judging by the trailer, it may be the most effects-driven series ever to air on TV. The question is: Could they possibly sustain its quality?
