Jack White Surprises SXSW With a Solo Concert

The music festival at SXSW is in full swing today, with Queens of the Stone Age, Raphael Saadiq, and Bad Brains all playing shows in Austin.* But the biggest news of the day was Jack White's surprise solo concert at the Third Man Rolling Record Store, a mobile yellow truck that serves as a music shop, live venue, and DJ booth that was set up shop this afternoon in the corner of a diner's parking lot.

The former White Stripes mastermind and Raconteurs frontman played a mini-set comprised of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" and the Stripes classic "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."
