This would ultimately prove awkward for Mr. Bejar, as he is accustomed to creating songs of polite intimacy, not the pomp and circumstance involved with representing a whole city and its constituents. His songs symbolize the surrounding geography only in as much as that is where he is from, and it inflects his prose in gentle ways that would take some divination to truly uncover. One could associate the genteel Disintegration-era Cure crossed with David Bowie trance of "Kaputt" to the transparent waters of English Bay, but it would all be pure conjecture.
